How do you select the best MOOC for your interests?

With so many MOOCs available, choosing one that truly fits your interests can feel daunting. Currently, I’m exploring topics like philosophy, psychology, and computer science, but I often find myself hopping between them without really delving deep into any single subject.

Determining which courses are worth my time has become quite the challenge. What criteria do you use when selecting a course? Do you prioritize your interest in the subject, or do you also take into account factors like the course structure, the instructor’s reputation, and how engaged the community is?

I’d love to hear how others approach their MOOC choices. What tips do you have for staying focused while exploring various subjects?

I usually look for courses that offer practical projects or hands-on activities. If I can apply what I’m learning right away, it keeps me more engaged. Also, checking reviews can help—seeing what others liked or didn’t can be a game-changer.

I totally get what you mean about jumping around. Sometimes I just look for courses with shorter modules or more interactive elements, like quizzes or projects. It helps me stay engaged, and if a course feels too slow or dry, I’m outta there. Have you tried any shorter courses that let you sampler topics before diving deep?
