Is an Online MSc in Computer Science a Smart Choice?

With so many online MSc programs in Computer Science available, it can be hard to determine which ones are worth it. For those balancing work or personal commitments, distance learning might seem ideal, but what’s the real experience like for graduates?

How do former students feel about their education and job opportunities after completing these programs? Are there specific programs that are particularly reputable or provide better support? It would be helpful to hear from those who have been through the process. What obstacles did you encounter, and do you believe the investment was beneficial in the long run?

I just finished an online MSc in CS, and honestly, it was a mixed bag. The flexibility was great for my job, but some of the courses felt super rushed. I landed a solid job afterward, but I think networking is key, so try to engage with your professors and peers. As for programs, I’ve heard good things about some with strong industry ties, like Georgia Tech’s.
